Split System Solutions for Sydney Homes
Split system air conditioning gives you targeted comfort where you need it most. Cool (and heat) individual rooms efficiently, or install multiple units for whole-house coverage with individual room control.
What makes split systems work well:

Split Systems, Sorted
Custom System Selection
Most companies size a split system based on room size alone. We consider how you use the space.
Is it a bedroom that needs whisper-quiet operation? A home office where you need consistent comfort during work hours? A living area that needs powerful cooling for the whole family? These details matter when selecting a system that works efficiently.
We’ll assess your rooms, discuss your usage patterns, and explain what capacity and features genuinely suit your needs.

Right System for Each Room
Different rooms have different requirements:
Bedrooms: Quiet operation, gentle airflow, sleep mode features
Living areas: Powerful cooling/heating, wide airflow distribution, family-friendly controls
Home offices: Consistent temperature, quiet operation, energy efficiency
Media rooms: Powerful cooling, quiet operation, precise temperature control
We’ll recommend specific models for each room based on how you use the space.

Professional Installation That Lasts
Here’s what sets our split system installations apart:
Optimal placement: We position indoor and outdoor units for best performance and aesthetics, not just what’s easiest to install.
Clean pipework: Concealed where possible, neatly finished where visible. No unsightly cables or pipes running across your walls.
Proper mounting: Secure installation that won’t vibrate or make noise. Outdoor units positioned to minimise sound impact.
Complete electrical: New circuit if needed, safety switches, proper earthing. One team handles everything.

Single or Multi-Split Solutions
Single split systems: Each room has its own complete system (indoor and outdoor unit). Simple, effective, independently controlled.
Multi-split systems: Multiple indoor units connected to one outdoor unit. Great for units or townhouses where outdoor space is limited.
We’ll explain which approach suits your property and needs.

Complete Electrical Integration
Because we handle electrical work in-house, you’re not coordinating multiple contractors or dealing with finger-pointing if something needs adjustment.
New circuits, safety switches, and all electrical connections are part of our complete installation. One team, one point of contact, sorted.

What Sets DMS Apart
Educational Approach, Not Sales Tactics
We explain your options properly before you commit. Most customers tell us they finally understood what they needed after talking with us, not just what size system fits their square metres.
Local Team Who Understand the Climate
Based in Emu Heights, we’ve installed systems across Western Sydney for 6+ Years. We understand how Penrith summers work, what building types need special consideration, and how to design systems for the local climate.
Commercial Expertise Applied to Homes
Our commercial HVAC experience means we approach residential installations with higher standards. Air balancing, proper commissioning, detailed documentation — things you don’t typically get with residential-only installers.
Total Solution Provider
We handle everything: assessment, design, electrical work, installation, commissioning, and ongoing support. No coordinating multiple contractors, no gaps in responsibility.
Quality-Focused Installation
We position ourselves in the mid-to-high market because we focus on doing it right rather than doing it cheaply. Our philosophy is simple: do it once, do it right.

Frequently Asked Questions
Still looking for the right answer?
Yes. Many families start with one or two rooms and add more units over time.
We’ll plan initial installations with future additions in mind:
- Electrical capacity for additional circuits
- Coordinated system selection
- Consistent controls and features
Adding systems later is straightforward and doesn’t affect existing units.
Most modern split systems include WiFi connectivity, allowing you to:
- Control temperature and settings via smartphone app
- Turn systems on/off remotely
- Set schedules and timers
- Monitor energy usage
- Receive maintenance reminders
We include WiFi-enabled models in our packages where available. Setup and app configuration are included in our installation service.
Most rooms can accommodate split systems, but some considerations:
Indoor unit requirements:
- Wall space for mounting (typically 2-3 metres above floor)
- Clearance around unit for airflow
- Drainage path for condensation
Outdoor unit requirements:
- Outdoor space on ground or wall
- Maximum distance from indoor unit (typically 15-20 metres)
- Adequate ventilation and access
During the assessment, we’ll identify any limitations and explain solutions.
Yes, within practical limits. We’ll work with you to position the outdoor unit for:
- Minimal noise impact (away from bedrooms, neighbours)
- Optimal performance (adequate airflow, shade where possible)
- Aesthetic considerations (screened, concealed, or tucked away)
- Maintenance access (for future servicing)
Some placements aren’t practical due to distance limits from the indoor unit, structural constraints, or performance issues. We’ll explain options during the assessment.
Yes, all our split systems are reverse cycle, meaning they provide both cooling and heating.
They’re highly efficient heaters, often more economical than gas heating or electric bar heaters for moderate climates like Western Sydney.
Yes, removal and disposal of old systems is included when replacing existing units.
We:
- Safely recover refrigerant (environmental requirement)
- Remove old indoor and outdoor units
- Patch and paint mounting holes where practical
- Dispose of old equipment responsibly
- Remove associated pipework if required
We aim to conceal pipework wherever practical:
- Run pipes internally through walls/ceiling cavities
- Use existing building features to hide runs
- Install decorative conduit where concealment isn’t possible
- Coordinate pipework paths to minimise visual impact
For external walls, we often run pipes down the exterior wall directly to the outdoor unit. Internal concealment is more complex but possible in many cases.
We’ll discuss options and show you proposed pipework routes during the assessment.
Single split system: Usually completed in one day (4-6 hours)
Two systems: Typically one day
Three or more systems: Usually 1–2 days depending on complexity
Factors affecting timing:
- Electrical work required (new circuits, switchboard upgrades)
- Pipework concealment requirements
- Outdoor unit placement complexity
- Building type and access
We’ll give you an accurate timeframe during the assessment. Most families find they can continue normal activities during installation.
Modern split systems are very quiet, especially premium models:
Indoor units: Typically 19-32dB on quiet settings (whisper-quiet)
Outdoor units: Typically 48-58dB (about the noise level of light rainfall)
We recommend premium models like Actron Air Serene for bedrooms due to their exceptionally quiet operation. During the assessment, we can discuss which models are quietest if this is a priority.
Choose split systems if:
- You only need to cool/heat specific rooms
- You want individual control in each room
- Your ceiling space isn’t suitable for ducting
- You prefer a staged approach (add rooms over time)
- You have a smaller budget initially
Choose ducted if:
- You want whole-house coverage with hidden outlets
- Your ceiling space suits ducting
- You prefer a single integrated system
- You’re building or renovating
Many families use both: ducted for main living areas, splits for specific rooms like home theatres or converted garages.
We’ll explain what suits your situation during the assessment.
Monthly (DIY):
- Clean or rinse filters (takes 5 minutes)
Annually (professional service):
- Deep clean indoor and outdoor units
- Check refrigerant levels and pressures
- Inspect electrical connections
- Test all functions and safety features
- Clean condensate drainage
Annual servicing typically costs {price range} per system. We send automatic reminders so you don’t forget.
Regular maintenance extends system life and maintains efficiency. Neglected systems use more energy and fail sooner.
System sizing depends on room size, ceiling height, insulation, window sizes, sun exposure, and how you use the space.
As a rough guide:
- Small bedroom (10-20m²): 2.5kW–3.5kW
- Large bedroom/small living (20-30m²): 3.5kW–5.0kW
- Large living area (30-40m²): 5.0kW–7.0kW
- Very large spaces (40m²+): 7.0kW+ or multiple units
During your free assessment, we’ll measure your rooms, assess all factors, and recommend the right capacity for each space.
All our split system installations include:
- Manufacturer warranty on equipment (typically 5-7 years on major components)
- Extended installation warranty covering workmanship
- 12-month peace-of-mind period where we’ll address any concerns
We also provide detailed installation documentation showing what was installed, system settings, and warranty information.
Specific warranty periods are detailed in your proposal.
All major brands (Actron Air, Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu) offer quality systems. Differences include:
Actron Air: Australian designed/owned, excellent warranty support, competitive pricing
Daikin: Japanese quality, wide range, strong reputation
Mitsubishi: Reliable performance, quiet operation, good longevity
Fujitsu: Energy efficiency focus, quiet operation, good value
We’ll recommend brands based on your priorities (budget, features, efficiency, noise levels) rather than pushing one supplier.
